The Minister of Immigration and Asylum added that Turkey “can do a better job” and called on it to work with the EU and Greece to protect human lives and eliminate traffickers’ networks.
His own answer to the allegations of the Turkish Minister of Interior, Suleyman Soyluwho blamed the Greek government for systematic repatriation of migrants to the Aegeangave the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Notis Mitarakis.
In a post on twitter he noted that “8 migrants are missing and 104 were rescued in the Cyclades by a sailboat that left the Turkish coast for Europe. Turkey can do a better job, working with the EU and Greece to protect human lives and eradicate trafficking networks, in line with international law and the 2016 EU Declaration».
