Mitsotakis for Fuel Pass: At 80 euros the subsidy for the next quarter – At 100 euros in the islands

The subsidy will run for three months in July, August and September for petrol and diesel and covers more than 3 million drivers.

Especially for the islands, the amount increases to 100 euros instead of 55 until today for cars, and to 70 euros for two-wheelers.

As he said, the subsidy will be valid for three months, July, August, September for gasoline and diesel and concerns 3 million drivers.

With the increase of the fuel subsidy – the Prime Minister continued – a reduction of the price of gasoline is achieved by 44 minutes.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis also announced an intervention for farmers, as, as he said, the return of the excise tax on oil is accelerated for the beginning of August instead of November, as was the original intention.

“But we have the technical capacity for the farmers, who will have completed the declarations so that we can expedite this payment and it will be done within August,” he said.

The new measures are estimated at 375 million euros, while the total subsidies for fuel reach 580 million euros.

“Direct and indirect aid to energy now reaches 8 billion euros. These are amounts that have emerged from our prudent financial management. “But also from the high number of growth that has succeeded and continued to succeed the Greek economy”, the prime minister underlined.

After the completion of the ministerial, the Minister of Finance Christos Staikouras and the Minister of Rural Development George Georgantas will specify the new measures.
