Applications for paid apprenticeship start in 51 EPAS – The 31 specialties in detail

Those who were born in the years 1993-2007 (15-29 years old) and have at least a high school diploma have the right to apply.

It starts today, Tuesday 21 Juneat 11:00, the electronic submission of applications for the admission of pupils to Vocational Schools (EPAS) Apprenticeship of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) for the school year 2022-2023 in 31 specialties with high demand in the labor market.

Those who were born in the years 1993-2007 (15-29 years old) and have at least a high school diploma have the right to apply.

The submission of applications is done exclusively electronically, through gov.gr, with the codes TAXISnet, at the electronic address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ekpaideuse/eggraphe-se-skholeio/eggraphe-se-epaggelmatike-skhole -epas-tou-oaed.

Specifically, the route is: gov.gr → Education → Enrollment in school γραφή Enrollment in Vocational School (EPAS) of DYPA.

As mentioned in a relevant announcement, DYPA has been implementing the Apprenticeship system since 1952, which is the only binary system in our country, which combines theoretical and laboratory vocational training in the School with the on-the-job-training program in the workplace. The aim is for the trainee to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge, but also professional experience in the labor market. In the morning, the students of EPAS take apprenticeships in companies of the private or public sector in positions related to their specialty, while in the afternoon they attend theoretical and laboratory courses at the School.

The students’ fee corresponds to 23.89 euros for each day of apprenticeship in the workplace for two years (four semesters).

According to the announcement, the students of EPAS Apprenticeship of DYPA:

  • carry out a paid workplace learning program and full insurance,
  • attend modern and fully equipped laboratories and are provided with the necessary books and aids,
  • trained by experienced and well-trained teaching staff,
  • are entitled to student leave, up to 30 days, with pay,
  • are entitled to deferment of enlistment,
  • those who meet the conditions receive housing and food allowance.

For the school year 2022-2023, 51 EPAS Apprenticeships will operate nationwide with 31 specialties in high demand in the labor market, while the EPAS Apprenticeship Pallini will reopen in the Attica Region, following requests from the local community.
