by

“Greece does not anticipate the stance that Turkey will take at the forthcoming NATO Summit, as well as in other international fora, nor does it circulate scenarios regarding the possibility of a Turkish unilateral objection to the demilitarization of the Aegean islands,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Responding to a reporter’s question regarding publications containing diplomatic sources to point out that the Turkish side will not raise issue of demilitarization of Aegean islands at NATO Summitthe representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexandros Papaioannounoted the following:

“Greece does not discount it stance to be taken by Turkey at the forthcoming NATO Summit, as well as in other international fora, nor does it circulate scenarios about the possibility of a Turkish unilateral objection to the demilitarization of the Aegean islands.

We deal prudently and calmly with the escalation of Turkish rhetoric and respond with arguments, on the basis of International Law and the Law of the Sea.

At the same time, we are informing our partners and allies about the Turkish delinquent behavior “.
