The Minister of Tourism referred to the strategic relationship between Greece and the USA in the field of tourism and praised the initiatives of the US Ambassador George Tsounis.

A crucial role in this effort was played by the Prime Minister’s trip to Washington last May, as he brought to our country new American investments in tourism, which are expected in the summer and which, as he characteristically stated, “came to stay”.
The Minister underlined the upgrading of Greece-US relations in tourism, after a series of strategic agreements with the most important one reached with the American airlines for 63 direct flights a week from the USA to “El. Venizelos ». As he said, the result is that a large number of high spenders travelers visit Athens and the tourist destinations of our country, which significantly strengthen the country’s economy, the tourism industry, the catering, the trade and finally the income of the average Greek family.
Vassilis Kikilias also referred to contribution of the cruise -this year the cruise ship arrivals are expected to be increased by 25% compared to 2019- and in the efforts made with the aim of having a cruise in Greece all months of the year, but always, in terms of sustainable development.
Finally, the Minister of Tourism praised the initiatives of the US Ambassador George Tsounis for the promotion of our country, characteristically stating that “we are very lucky to have him in Greece”.
