Greece restores its international prestige and plays an important role in the Southeastern Mediterranean, Tsipras, in 2015, risked making it a pariah country, the government spokesman said in a statement
Announcement – response to his statements Alexis Tsipras in Open issued government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou.
It states in more detail:
“Greece, during the prime ministership of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has restored its international prestige and now plays an important role not only in the Southeastern Mediterranean, but also in all the great crises and challenges facing the Eurasian space. Greece today is a respected country, with a weighty role, a factor of stability and security in the world. This fact, apart from being a success of the Government, is also a huge success of the homeland. And so everyone should understand it, regardless of our political differences.
However, Mr. Tsipras, who during his own prime ministership undermined the prestige of Greece and on such days in 2015 risked making it a rogue country, does not understand in the slightest the modern international politics and diplomacy. Because if he understood what was happening, he would not vote against the defense of the country and the deepening of the alliances with the USA and France. If he understood what happened and focused on the big picture, he would see that Turkey has folded and not put its irrational positions in any of the discussions at the NATO Summit. If he looked a little further from his narrow party horizon, he would notice that the White House announcement sends a clear message to Ankara to avoid tensions in the Aegean and return to the dialogue table.
“As in the period of the pandemic, as is happening now with the energy crisis, the same unfortunately applies to our national issues: the enormous modern challenges far exceed the possibilities and the political cubics of Mr. Tsipras”.
