As reported by SKAI’s correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, the Turkish media reports that “the hostile action of the Greek lobby succeeded”, setting two conditions to Turkey for the sale of the F-16s.

Extensive reports on the approval of an amendment by the competent committee of the US House for the ban on upgrading the F-16 or selling new fighters to Turkey are being made today in the Turkish press.

As reported by the SKAI correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, Turkish media reports that “the hostile action of the Greek lobby succeeded”, setting two conditions to Turkey for the sale of the F-16s.

Based on amendment prohibits the sale of new F16smodernization kits and upgraded technology to Turkey and any entity related to Turkey.

However, the amendment leaves open a window that allows the president to override the restrictions if he demonstrates to Congress that doing so is in the vital national security interest of the US and if he details the steps taken to ensure that the F- 16 are not used for overflights over Greece.

The newspaper Hurriyet notes that “there is also a retreat of the lobby”.

Turks dream of luxury in Famagusta

The good old days, when Famagusta was a luxury resort, are remembered in Turkey, hoping that these abstinences will return.

In fact, the newspaper Yeni Safak reports “When we open, the whole city will return to Ferraris and Jaguars”.

The report makes extensive reference to the five-star hotels that were full of people, the theaters and cinematographers of the area and the shops.

Finally, as reported by Manolis Kostidis, the Turkish media are also dealing with the preliminary grain agreement between Ukraine and Russia that was concluded yesterday in Istanbul.
