A few minutes before the start of the performance at the Kalamata Ballroom, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni and the Deputy Minister Nikos Giatromanolakis left the Ballroom with the information that there will be a protest for the release of Lignadis, as reported by eleftheriaonline.gr.

Last night, dancers from the stage of the Kalamata Dance Palace sent their own message regarding the release of Dimitris Lignadis.

After the show ended, a banner was hung that said “Rapists must be in jail”.

A few minutes before the start of the show, both the Minister of Culture Lina Mendonias well as the deputy minister Nikos Giatromanolakis they left the Dance Hall having the information that there will be this form of protest, as reported by eleftheriaonline.gr.

Commenting on the departures, SYRIZA’s press representative, Nasos Iliopoulos, wrote on Facebook:

“Ms. Mendoni didn’t have to leave the performance at the Kalamata International Dance Festival without being confronted with the slogan of the Belgian artistic group Peeping Tom: ‘rapists should be in prison’.

She could simply hold up her own banner: ‘I appointed him without a contest, I covered him up as much as I could, I questioned the victims and now I’m just pretending not to know’.

The government is exposed and Ms. Mendoni is involved in an unprecedented case of cover-up”.
