Kikilias: It is our duty to protect our democracy

With an extended list of guests and strong representation from Civil Society, the reception for the 48th Anniversary of the Restoration of the Republic in the garden of the Presidential Palace.

“The democracy that was established after the Junta is the strongest and most qualitative that Greece has known since the Revolution of 1821”says the Minister of Tourism on his personal twitter account Vassilis Kikilias on the occasion of today’s anniversary.

“Konstantinos Karamanlis made sure that its foundations were strong and definitively gave the Fatherland the right international orientation”, adds Mr. Kikilias, accompanying his post with a photo of the time in which Konstantinos Karamanlis was sworn in as Prime Minister of the country, in the early hours of July 24, 1974, by Archbishop Seraphim.

In his second tweet, the Minister of Tourism emphasizes that “our debt to those who fought for the consolidation of the Republic is to strengthen it even more and to protect it. For a Strong, Proud and Safe Greece”.
