SYRIZA: With the PNP, Mitsotakis keeps intact the regime of opacity in its operation

The official opposition accuses the prime minister of “maintaining control of the EYP from the prime minister’s office”

“As much as Mr. Mitsotakis claims that he wants transparency in the operation of the EYP, he insists on opacity and authoritarianism”, underlines in his statement the SYRIZA-PS.

As he comments, “he avoids accountability in the Parliament in every way, after he refused the requests of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance for the Parliament to return to normal operation as well as for the Institutions and Transparency Committee to meet immediately in order to protect Dimitriadis and Kontoleon and to protect himself and the same”. “All this to bring night without any consultation and control Act of Legislative Content for the EYP with which it keeps intact the regime of non-transparency in its operation”, adds the official opposition.

The official opposition attributes, to the prime minister that he “maintains the control of the EYP by the prime minister’s office and the choice of its head by the prime minister by adding only a simple opinion of the Parliament”, but also that “he does not repeal the despicable and guilty amendment of his government by which he does not allow the ADAE to inform citizens about the removal of the confidentiality of their communication”.

“He does not abolish it, in order to leave in the dark what he has done criminally against the citizens and the politicians he was watching”, notes SYRIZA-PS and concludes:

“It is possible that for the “108 update” Mr. Mitsotakis made “big cuts” in the operation of the EYP. The reality, however, proves that Mr. Mitsotakis, apart from being dangerous for democracy and the rule of law, also remains a common political fraud”.
