SYRIZA for Evros: How does the government explain the sudden “discovery” of these people

A joint statement about the immigrants found in Evros was issued by George Katrougalos, George Psychogios and Natasha Gara, of SYRIZA.

The announcement:

According to information from the Greek Police, the until yesterday “non-existent” people who were stranded on an island in Evros have been found.

We ask the government, in continuation of our announcement yesterday in which we requested official and responsible information:

How does she explain the sudden “discovery” of these people, when she herself, through the competent minister N. Mitarakis and official announcements of ELAS, assured that no human presence had been detected on the island where they were trapped and attacked with unacceptable characterizations the SYRIZA-PS who raised the issue?

Will he apologize to the Greek people for the leaks that it was fake news?

Or will he be fortified behind bickering about the exact coordinates at which there were no refugees at such and such a time?

Has he made any move to the UN or the EU to highlight Turkish responsibilities for the events of the last few days, or does he have reasons to believe that they should not get involved in the matter?

Will the new European Migration Pact finally prioritize the decisions of the UN Marrakesh Pact that provide for proportional distribution of refugees and legal safe passages to address the ongoing human tragedies for which the EU is also responsible?

Finally, we remind the government of its obligations from the relevant decisions of the European Court of Human Rights App. 35090/22 KA v. Greece and App. 384444/22 BS and others v. Greece and we call on it not to drag the name of our country in this field as well, as in all the previous days with the surveillance scandal.
