Gerapetritis outburst at Tsipras: Retract or I will exercise my defamation rights

by

“The word ‘lie’ is heavy. There are dignified people in this room. You must remember this,” said Mr. Gerapetritis, addressing Mr. Tsipras.

The report by Alexis Tsipras that he lied to the Institutions and Transparency Committee – along with Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Panagiotis Kontoleontas – about the surveillance led the Minister of State, Giorgos Gerapetritis, to an explosion.

“The true meaning of words has been lost. The word ‘lie’ is heavy. There are dignified people in this room. You have to remember this. I never mentioned what you said to the parliamentary committee. I didn’t say a word.

Ask Mr. Katrougalos. Tell, George, to your chief if I told what he mentioned as lies. Please withdraw by the end of the meeting.

And I inform you that I intend to exercise all the rights I have for the insult you did to me.”

Answering the Alexis Tsipras he said: “Mr. Mitsotakis finally needed a lifeline and Mr. Gerapetritis took over the role. I have a number of unanswered questions, one of which includes you. Did you know or not? You personally did not answer, Mr. Kontoleon answered with lies. Did you know? Why weren’t you answering?
Don’t point the finger at lawsuits, we’re talking politics here. Did you know or not? You didn’t rush to clarify what’s going on.”
