After the Greek protest march to Jens Stoltenberg, NATO tried to “clean up” the mess, deleting the post from Twitter.

Angry against Greece, recalling times of the Ottoman Empire and dark moments in the history of Turkey, the Tayyip Erdogan continues his delirium with characteristics of a manifesto against Greece and enriches the propaganda against our country with new inventions.
To his non-existent claims in the last few days, he added the lies about the entrapment of a Turkish F16 by the Greek S300s. He did not even hesitate to threaten – through leaks – that he will send to the General Secretariat of NATO and the Ministries of Defense of the member countries of the alliance, files from radar, from which it emerges, as Ankara claims, the harassment of the Turkish F16 fighters that were flying in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean from Greece’s S300 anti-missile system.
Taking advantage of the celebrations of the black anniversary of the Asia Minor Disaster, the Turkish president ahistorically and insultingly escalates the rhetorical tension with new accusations and, this time, against Greece but also against the EU and NATO. “In the Aegean, we know that those who cause trouble with harassment and rudeness at every opportunity are only pawns and make efforts together with those behind them. In the Eastern Mediterranean we know well the reasons of those who, with the noise they cause, attempt to cut off our rights”, emphasized the Turkish president during a Ceremony at the University of National Defense. He even went on to attack the EU and NATO more aggressively, saying that “We know very well the reason why the EU, which we are waiting for, excludes us when it joins countries that cannot compare with us. We know very well where NATO transferred its power, which did not support us at the height of threats against of our country. We know the intentions of those who give weapons to terrorists around the world and especially near our borders, while not selling them to us.” he stated.
The Turkish President took care to confirm the words of the Greek Prime Minister that he is also trying to get involved in the political scene of Greece, speaking disparagingly of Greek politicians. “The Greek politicians who destroyed themselves and their country a century ago, unfortunately we see that they persist in the same mistake today. As we always say. Greece is not our equal, it is not our interlocutor, neither in politics nor in economic but not on a military level” Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech.
Soft tones from Athens – The placement of Karamanlis
The opposite of nationalist outbursts of Tayyip Erdogan, Athens insists on moving in soft tones, always based on international law and following the strategy of internationalizing Turkish challenges at every opportunity.
The Turkish provocation with spikes towards the international community was also mentioned by former Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis from Crete, speaking of defiance on the part of its neighbour, “every concept of respect for International Law and international treaties, attempts to overturn the existing status quo and impose its hegemony, unfortunately sometimes with collusion and sometimes with tolerance or vigilance neutrality of the main protagonists of international life. It is in this gloomy setting that our country is called upon to show its best self, expanding its international bases, constantly improving its defensive and deterrent capacity and above all, preserving and forging the national unity and the determination of the whole of Hellenism to repel in every way any attempt to usurp its rights” he emphasized.
Regarding the Turkish nationalism that drives Ankara’s revision plans, Mr Nikos Dendias commenting on the new outbursts of the Turkish president. “Today’s Turkey, as it unfortunately turns out, has learned nothing from the destruction of the Ottoman Empire, for which it is utterly nostalgic. And it is using it as an occasion to revive a nationalist spirit, which is a clear challenge, but also proof that it has its sights set on in the Ottoman past” he wrote in his article in the newspaper “Demokratia”.
Sources who study the tactics of Tayyip Erdoğan attribute the new challenges to the occasion of the anniversary celebrations of the Asia Minor disaster, but at the same time, they also see Turkey’s irritation at its exclusion from the US armament programs. That is why the attempt is also being made to offset the Greek S300s. The irritation, however, works so “convulsively” that it pushes the Turkish leadership to fall back, so that sometimes it directly attacks the USA and sometimes it tries to approach them.
The failure of NATO and the folding
In this climate of tension and challenges by Turkey, the provocative post of the NATO Land Forces Headquarters, in which it expressed the his congratulations to Turkey for the national holiday of August 30, which actually commemorates the victory of the Turkish army over the Greek forces in 1922 in Asia Minor.
Finally, the strict march of protest of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, for the congratulatory post, characterizing it as inappropriate and unacceptable, led the NATO headquarters to retreat and “collected” both the inaccuracy and the related post, which was taken down by Twitter.
