The gap between ND and PASOK was also shown by the announcements that followed the interview of Nikos Androulakis on SKAI 100.3.

Fire takes the political scene against the background of the issue of monitoringthe rise of political leaders in TEF and the difficult winter that’s coming. The political messages sent by Nikos Androulakis talking on SKAI radio and Pavlos Tsimas was a lot. From the attack he launched against both Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alexis Tsipras, the president of PASOK clarified that the confrontation against ND and SYRIZA will continue. “The practices of Tsipras – Kammenou are almost the same as those of Mitsotakis”, he said characteristically. He even added that “the president of SYRIZA was the one who said what Mr. Mitsotakis is saying today. “You vote for PASOK, you get ND” and now Mr. Mitsotakis is saying the same thing.”
THE puzzle as to whether PASOK will finally join hands with the first party remains. The surveillance case is estimated to remove any possibility of a repeat of the 2012-2015 period. Nikos Androulakis in his interview emphasized that “the people will decide on the associations and the government”, however he expressed the opinion that neither Kyriakos Mitsotakis neither Alexis Tsipras, who have been tested in the prime minister’s chair, should take over the reins of the country. In relation to the elections, the head of Harilaou Trikoupi kept his distance from his line Alexis Tsipras who wants polls set up here and now. “The elections must be held as soon as the investigation of this case is completed so that every Greek citizen going to the ballot box knows the responsibilities of the government in relation to a case which unfortunately directly undermines Democracy and the Rule of Law”, he emphasized. It is obvious that in Harilaou Trikoupi they estimate that at the end of the day their party will emerge victorious in the polls from this case.
The bra de fer between the three parties is expected to be tough in the coming period, as the balances are delicate. In Koumoundourou they may be enjoying the “fight” that has started between ND and PASOK, however the plans they are making for progressive governance cannot be implemented without the “yes” of Nikos Androulakis. Kyriakos Mitsotakis clarified speaking to his cabinet that the elections will be held in nine months from today, showing that he wants to use up almost the entire year of the four-year period, reaching almost until the summer. The first two parties have long been treating PASOK as the “many bride” despite the fact that it vows for its autonomous course. A large percentage of executives of Harilaou Trikoupis still have a very negative opinion of SYRIZA, so co-operation is not a simple matter. At the same time, the joint course of SYRIZA with PASOK, due to the connections of EYP, has caused complaints in the right wing of Harilaou Trikoupis. But not some rift that could lead the specific executives just like that into the arms of the blue faction.
The gap between ND and PASOK was also seen from the announcements that followed the interview of Nikos Androulakis and from the two staffs: “By insisting on talking about this issue single-handedly, identifying completely with SYRIZA, he simply confirms what more and more citizens are thinking: that voting for Androulakis results in Tsipras”, marked from Piraeus Street. The answer from PASOK was immediate: “It is evident that Mr. Mitsotakis’ desperate attempt to find a lifeline in the promotion of Mr. Tsipras as the only alternative choice, creating a dipole to suit him. Fortunately for parliamentary democracy there are other options.”
The great asset of Nikos Androulakis is the upward trend of PASOK from the assumption of the presidency onwards. What his political opponents attribute to him is that he cannot maintain that the people will decide on the associations and the new government, but he cannot decide on who will be the prime minister. Both ND and SYRIZA have leaders. Voting for these parties means accepting Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alexis Tsipras as prime ministers. And this is perhaps the only point in which the government and official opposition agree. All the parties, however, admit that the precision and the heavy energy winter will be the catalyst of the developments that will shape the final balances by the spring of 2023.
