The government supports the primary sector with a series of measures announced Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his visit to the dairy industry “Peak” in Serres.
As the prime minister said, the most important of the measures was to ensure the quality of the emblematic national product, feta, and protect it against claims from other countries, but also to ensure that real feta finally gets the price it deserves, so so that the farmers who supply the said unit with 15 tonnes of milk per day know that they too can get a decent price which will allow them to continue the work they are doing.
He described the “Top” as a dynamic and exporting company, saying that its products are conquering foreign markets.
Mr. Mitsotakis referred to the unprecedented energy crisis and emphasized that the government will continue to support households and businesses, to the extent that the state budget allows, so that they can face it.
The first stop of the Prime Minister’s visit was the factory of the Office Furniture Manufacturing company RUNNER.
“I am particularly happy to visit a company that expresses, embodies our vision for Greek entrepreneurship, which innovates, produces and exports,” said the Prime Minister, addressing the company’s employees.
There is no successful business without satisfied employees
“I will not get tired of saying that there is no successful business that does not have satisfied employees. And this is something we will always stand by, especially as a government. Not only with measures such as increasing the minimum wage and reducing taxation, but also with continuous incentives for companies to support their staff, to educate them, so that companies and employees can continue to move forward together hand in hand.
I believe that this is something that you have put into practice and I encourage you to continue with even greater enthusiasm and with even greater momentum in this direction”, noted Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
We have succeeded in reducing unemployment and creating well-paid jobs
“Our government will always stand by healthy entrepreneurship. Our first goal when we started 3 years ago was to reduce unemployment and create good paying jobs.
We have achieved this to a large extent. Much more needs to be done, but jobs are not created without the private sector and if there is not an appropriate framework to encourage entrepreneurs to invest, to be able to reduce their taxation, to facilitate them with issues such as electricity costs, to simplify the licensing, then there will be no business boom”, stressed the Prime Minister.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis was given a tour of the company’s facilities by its President Athanasios Papapanagiotou and his son Kostas Papapanagiotou and saw the main processing stages up close.
The President of DROMEAS company, Athanasios Papapanagiotou, he referred with very warm words to the policies implemented by the government and personally by the Prime Minister.
“Your visit reflects in practice your interest in industry, which is a key pillar in the economy and development of any country. The positive results of your government in the effort to modernize the country in combination with the treatment of the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequences of the war in Ukraine confirm your personal constitution and effectiveness”, said Mr. Papapanagiotou.
Since it was founded, DROMEAS has made significant investments, creating 6 independent processing units for wood, steel, aluminum casting, plastic casting, mold making, and seat production and has a very significant export activity.
They accompany the prime minister on his visit to Serres the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport and Member of Parliament of Serres K.Ach. Karamanlis and as well as three other ND MPs in the prefecture, Fotini Arambatzi, Tassos Chatzivasileiou and Theofilos Leontaridis.
