Tsipras: “The Mitsotakis regime will fall from the struggles of the new generation”

by

Mr. Tsipras said that the steps for democracy, freedom, pluralism that were made in the post-colonial period are being challenged “by a government that, knowing that its policies serve the few and bring despair to the many, hastened to build a regime.

With an attack on the “Mitsotakis regime”, as he said, the president of the party, Alexis Tsipras, began his speech at the Sputnik youth festival of SYRIZA saying that “this regime that crushes the dreams and the future of the new generation, may fall and will fall from the young men and women of our country”.

Mr. Tsipras said that the steps for democracy, freedom, pluralism that were made in the post-colonial period are being challenged “by a government that, knowing that its policies serve the few and bring despair to the many, hastened to build a regime.

Which does not threaten her political opponents. It directly threatens democracy itself. And it aims to control information. The waste of public wealth. The control of political opponents.

The intimidation and persecution of troublesome journalists. The suppression of social struggles and especially the struggles of the youth. The wretchedness of the methods they use to enforce this regime should not surprise us. Because it goes perfectly with the wretchedness of their politics.

Or to put it another way, the more miserable the policies they try to impose, the more miserable the methods they use become.” Continuing, he accused the prime minister that “the stability of the filthy lucre that Mr. Mitsotakis promised to the state-fed, entangled and parasitic elite, is not ensured either with democracy or with transparency.

So that’s why they follow these wretched methods. That is why Mr. Mitsotakis set up his regime. That is why he set up his parastatal. To consolidate his position in power. And to ensure the profits of the few and elite who supported him to be elected, as a counter-gift for them to continue to support him”.
