“Very impressive reform measures” of the Greek government, with which the Greek economy “has come to a new path of success” spoke the Minister of Finance of the new German government and leader of the Liberals (FDP), Christian Lindner, and stressed that Germany must become “similarly ambitious”. He added that he looks forward to continuing the talks with the Greek government, in a “good and harmonious” atmosphere.
Asked if the European partners and Greece have reason to be “concerned” about the fact that the head of the Ministry of Finance will be Christian Lindner, who in the past has expressed very strict positions on the budget, the new minister noted that Germany in Europe “will focus on stability and at the same time make it possible to liberalize investment in competitiveness”.
“This is a point of reference for us the impressive and successful policy of the Greek government”, Mr. Linder continued and stated that “lately it has been achieved, with very impressive reform measures, to bring the Greek economy to a new path of success” . This, on the other hand, he added, “should be even for Germany the demand to become equally ambitious, as is Greek domestic policy, and in this sense I look forward to the next opportunities to continue in Athens, with the Prime Minister and my counterpart, the talks, which in the past we have already conducted in a good and harmonious atmosphere “.
