I made an unfortunate statement and I apologize to the citizens who felt offended, said the Deputy Home Secretary for the phrase “he who refuses to adapt, unfortunately dies”.
Deputy Interior Minister Stelios Petsas apologized for the phrase “those who don’t adapt die” via a video on Twitter.
“Yesterday I made an unfortunate statement. Despite the fact that it was not in my intentions some felt offended. I apologize to them. As well as by my colleagues in the government who were invited to discuss this matter instead of promoting the successful presence of the prime minister at the TIF and the huge government work to support society so that we can overcome this crisis together” said Mr. Petsas.

Speaking yesterday morning to ANT1 about the government’s measures against the energy crisis, Mr. Petsas said: “The main thing in these cases is to show adaptation. Anyone who refuses to adapt, unfortunately dies.”
This phrase caused a storm of reactions, which eventually led to the “apology” of the minister.
