The messages to reduce the nationalist flare-up received by Erdogan – He insists on aggravation

The Turkish citizens, in their overwhelming majority, reject all the anti-Greek delirium cultivated by the Turkish president and the opposition parties.

Another clear answer to revisionist policy of Turkey and its non-existent claims that distort the Treaty of Lausanne, the prime minister gave Kyriakos Mitsotakis from the opening event for Asia Minor at the Benaki Museum.

On the occasion of Ankara’s provocation, the Greek prime minister referred to his outburst Tayyip Erdogan stressing that his practices violate the treaty and as he typically said: “Greece will march with the shield of diplomacy, its strong alliances and the deterrent spear of the Armed Forces and its uninterrupted march towards progress” said Mr. Mitsotakis while referring to the Treaty of Lausanne he also stated that Turkey should realize , that in the nearly a century of validity of this Treaty, it will be succeeded by many more. “This is what History and Geography, legitimacy and international stability demand” write down.

However, despite the multiple messages he receives from abroad as well as from within, Tayyip Erdogan insists on investing in a unique nationalist entrapment of Turkeyinsisting on sharpening relations with Athens and its allies, provoking rhetorically and in the field, distorting reality but also ignoring the opinion of the rejected Turkish people who are plagued by the unsuccessful policies of the Turkish president.

Turkish poll that saw the light of day also reveals the internal isolation of Tayyip Erdoğan and his government from the Turkish citizens, as they overwhelmingly reject all the anti-Greek delirium that he and their government officials cultivate and spew at every opportunity, while at the same time dragging the opposition parties into a delusional auction of nationalism.

The mixture of political misdirection and disorientation of Turkey’s public opinion from the real problems, which Tayyip Erdoğan attempts at home under the banner of anti-Greek propaganda and aggravation, does not seem to convince the citizens who perceive the pre-election lifelines that the Turkish president is looking for in his attempt to remain hooked on power.

The response of 51.5% of the citizens who answered “yes” is impressive, they believe that “the tension between Greece and Turkey in the last month is an attempt to create an agenda for the elections”. And only 26.2% have the opposite opinion.

Equally diametrically opposed to Erdogan’s tactics is the response they gave almost 7 out of 10 citizens, 64%, who believe that the Greek people are friends and only 31.3% that they are enemies. What makes this finding even more impressive is the fact that 60% of those who answered that the Greeks are friends, belong to the party of the Turkish President.

Of course, the question that arises is who will finally manage to prevail, as at the moment, Tayyip Erdogan seems to feed more and more the mill of nationalist and anti-Hellenic paroxysm, with the opposition following in the same “hava”.

Typical example of far right Meral Aksener which was “jealous” of the Turkish President’s nationalistic crescendo by questioning Greek sovereignty over the islands of the eastern Aegean and calling on Tayyip Erdogan to act accordingly. “In Mr. Erdogan’s statements there was an important point that there was an invasion of 18 islands. If 18 islands are under occupation and you are the president, because you are talking about occupation you should do the right thing,” he stressed.

It was preceded by the anti-Greek delirium of the Republican leader, Kemal Kilintsaroglou with provocative reports about Cyprus. “We are not like them, supposedly “I’m coming,” “I’m coming right away,” or “I can come in the morning.” he said that our army is now in Cyprus”. and it’s over,” he said.
