The first meeting of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis after his arrival in New York was with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Israel Yair Lapid.

Government sources report that the meeting took place in a warm atmosphere that reflects the strategic relationship between the two countries.

The two leaders had the opportunity to exchange views on bilateral political, defense and economic relations, the course of tripartite cooperation schemes and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Cooperation issues were discussed at both bilateral and tripartite levels (Greece-Cyprus-Israel cooperation scheme), with an emphasis on energy cooperation.
