With three separate amendments, which were submitted to the bill under discussion in the Plenary Assembly, PASOK takes an initiative regarding the operational framework of the EYP and the restoration of the role of the ADAE.
Specifically:
- The National Intelligence Service is transferred as a set of responsibilities, positions, and personnel to the Minister of Citizen Protection.
- The role of A.D.A.E. is restored. regarding the lifting of confidentiality for reasons of national security, extending in these cases the possibility of notifying the affected parties of the imposition of this measure. The previous regime, which was in effect continuously from 1994 to 2021, when A.D.A.E. was stripped of its responsibility, leading it under the Prime Minister E.Y.P. in a regime of “panoptic” promiscuity.
- The order requiring the removal of confidentiality should contain the following information: a) the body ordering the removal, b) the public authority or the prosecutor or the investigator requesting the removal, c) the purpose of the removal d) the means of response or communication in which the removal is imposed, e) the territorial scope of application and the duration of the removal, f) the date of issuance of the order, g) the name of the person or persons against whom the measure of of removal and their address of residence, if known, h) the reason for imposing the removal
