The decisions signed for the revision of the General Urban Plan of the Municipal Community of Efkarpia and the change of use of the former factory of AGNO, give the green light for the improvement of the living conditions of the citizens, stated the Deputy Minister of the Interior
“The two ministerial decisions, signed today, regarding its revision General Urban Plan of the Municipal Community of Efkarpia and the change of use of the former AGNO factory, give the green light for the improvement of the living conditions of the citizens of the two regions”, said the Deputy Minister of the Interior (Macedonia-Thrace), Stavros Kalafatis.
On the occasion of the signing of the two ministerial decisions by the Deputy Minister of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, Nikolaos Tagaras, Mr. Kalafatis emphasized that the municipality of Pavlos Melas “is now given the opportunity to proceed with the implementation of the plans, so that the former factory ceases to exist to be a carcass dangerous for public health and to be turned into a green and recreational area”.
“In the Municipal Community of Efkarpia, the way is opening for the creation of parks, common areas, playgrounds, while the building factor is also changing”, he added.
These decisions, he underlined, are practical evidence that the Macedonia and Thrace Section of the Ministry of the Interior, the government and the Prime Minister personally are interested in solving vital problems in the region. “As I pointed out when, together with the General Secretary of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, Mr. Efthimios Bakoyannis, we conducted an autopsy at the AGNO site, step by step we are solving the problems of western Thessaloniki – and not only. We speak with actions – not words”, he emphasized.
