Indirect threats Erdogan: We have the Tayfun missile – Somewhere they are watching with great interest

A message with recipients in every direction from the Turkish president in his speech at a university in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan launched indirect threats to all directions – and to Greece – while speaking at a university in Istanbul.

As the Sky correspondent reports, Manolis Kostidis, the Turkish president said that his country now has the Tayfun ballistic missile. He said in particular: “We are also building the amphibious operations ship that will house the unmanned aircraft as well as host the unmanned vessels. We are becoming more powerful with our anti-aircraft systems, with our missile systems with our armored systems and with our other technological vehicles.

Now we have him too. Tayfun. These are signs in some places and they are being watched with great interest. Now our goal is to advance them even further in their next phase.

At the same time, Turkey’s deputy foreign minister, Faruk Kaymaktsi, appeared defiant in an interview with the Sabah newspaper, talking about maximalist expectations of Greece and Cyprus. In particular, he stated:

“It (the EU) does not have the competence to determine issues such as maritime jurisdictions and airspace. Therefore, what the EU should do is to encourage all countries to resolve their bilateral problems bilaterally and in accordance with international law. All other interventions are useless, they are harmful. Instead, the EU blindly supports the right or wrong stance of a member state.”

“Turkey-EU relations should not be hostage to the maximalist political expectations of Greece and the Greek Cypriots. The EU should also give them the right messages and advise them to resolve bilateral problems bilaterally [σσ. dual] level. If this is done, I believe there will be an important opportunity in Turkey-EU relations.”

There is a serious problem of energy security after the war in Ukraine. One of the four most important energy supply lines in Europe passes through the Turkish Republic, it is the Southern Natural Gas Corridor. Its capacity can easily be doubled in a few years. By connecting here the natural gas of the Eastern Mediterranean, Turkey actually offers a very important opportunity to Europe in terms of energy security. However, unfortunately, the potential in this area cannot be assessed due to the policy of Greece and Greek Cypriots towards Turkey in the EU.
