It was preceded by a private meeting of the Prime Minister with Kaja Kallas
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his Estonian counterpart Kaja Kallas are making joint statements at this time. The Estonian Prime Minister made an extensive reference to the War in Ukraine and the attitude of Russia. As he said, in addition to the energy crisis, the risk of Russia’s instrumentalization of immigration remains very high and he noted that Greece knows this situation very well.
Taking the floor, the prime minister pointed out the excellent relations between the two countries, but also the commonalities of the two countries and the challenges they face. There is much, he said, for cooperation such as in digital transformation, an area in which Estonia is a leader. At the same time, he pointed out that there is a favorable investment environment and added that Greece has now left the economic crisis behind. Referring to the War in Ukraine, Mr. Mitsotakis noted that Greece and Estonia are on the same side and will continue to stand by Ukraine, which now sees its infrastructure being destroyed.
