The Deputy Minister of National Defense attended the events celebrating the 110th anniversary of the union of Samos with Greece.

“We are sending a message of stability and friendship. However, at the same time we send a message of strength, vigilance and above and more than anything else we clarify that our Armed Forces, from the political and military leadership to each soldier, perceive each of our islands, each micro-island and each rock islet as a separate homeland. We are sober, we are cool, we are strong, we are ready to defend the homeland”, stated, among other things, the Deputy Minister of National Defense Nikos Hardaliaswho attended today, Sunday 13 November 2022, the events celebrating the 110th anniversary of the union of Samos with Greece, as a representative of the government.

“From here, from beautiful Samos, we celebrated today for the Union, we honored those who fought for Freedom and National Independence” added Nikos Hardalias. The Deputy Minister of National Defense attended the official doxology held at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos, patron of His Eminence Metropolitan Eusebius of Samos, Ikaria and Corse. Afterwards, he attended the memorial service and laid a wreath for Andriantas of Themistocles Sofoulis.

Finally, the Deputy Minister of National Defense attended the parade with the participation of students, cultural clubs and units of the Armed Forces.

The events were also attended by the Member of Parliament of Samos Christodoulos Stefanadis, the Deputy Regional Governor for Promotion and Promotion of Northern Aegean products Sultana Andreadou as the representative of the Regional Governor of the Northern Aegean, the rural deputy regional governor of the Regional Unity of Samos Vasilios Panourakis, the mayors of East Samos Georgios Stanzos and West Samos Alexandros Lymberis , the head of the GES Lt. General Charalambos Lalousis, the commander of the Supreme Military Command of the Interior and Islands Lt. Gen. Dimitrios Houpis, the commander of the 79th National Guard Battalions Brigadier General Nikolaos Lampidonis, delegations of executives of the Armed Forces and the Security Forces, as well as representatives of other agencies.
