Official letter of protest to the European External Action Service (EHEA) sent the deposed, caretaker government of Tripoli, Libyafor the attitude of the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, N. Dendias and the diplomatic episode that took place on November 17 at Tripoli airport, according to European diplomatic sources.

According to the same sources, in this letter, which is in the form of a verbal communication, the caretaker government of Tripoli (its term of office has expired for about a year) is critical of the attitude of the Greek foreign minister, who refused to gets off the plane to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the caretaker government of Tripoli, Naila Mangous and expresses her surprise at this behavior from an EU member state. She also expresses the view that actions like these do not help the reunification of Libya , but they intensify the division and are contrary to the decisions of the international community.

It is recalled that on November 17, Nikos Dendias refused to get off the plane to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the caretaker government of Tripoli, Naila Mangous. The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced the adoption of diplomatic measures in a statement after the said diplomatic episode, speaking of “vulgar policies and positions” of Mr. Dendias. In addition, Tripoli recalled the Libyan chargé d’affaires in Athens and summoned the Greek chargé d’affaires in Libya for explanations.
