Ioanna Kolovou was visited today at her home by the President of SYRIZA – PS Alexis Tsipras, one day after forced eviction operation her by the police.
Alexis Tsipras discussed with Ms. Kolovou about her tragic experience. “You keep a strong defense” he told her characteristically and emphasized that “the best security door is the solidarity of ordinary people”.
The President of SYRIZA – PS expressed his fear that “we will see this story all the time because of the bankruptcy law of the Mitsotakis government” and underlined that “during the period of the memorandums, despite the pressures of the troika, there was protection of the people’s primary residence. Referring to the funds, he recalled that “we brought a law in 2015 that provided for mandatory stages of regulation and taxation of all actions of the funds, and the Mitsotakis government used a law from 2003 that neither provided for mandatory stages of regulation nor taxation”.
For her part, the low-retired journalist shared with the President of SYRIZA – PS her tragic experience, saying that “there is no more terrible thing, to hear the door of your house break. Like a nightmare. They didn’t even let me go to the toilet” and thanked the people who supported her. “Let the children be well. Their solidarity saved me.”
