“Insults and divisive speech do not hide the problems. We will not follow this slippery path of Mr. Mitsotakis,” said Mr. Tsipras from Pella.
The president of SYRIZA PS, Alexis Tsipras, has been touring Pella since the morning. During his tour of the central market of Edessa, Mr. Tsipras discussed with citizens and shopkeepers about the extreme price increases and precision in energy, fuel and the supermarket, about the dramatic decrease in incomes and turnover that they bring and about the inflation of private debt under the risk of removing the protection of the first home.
After his tour, Mr. Tsipras made the following statement to the press representatives:
“Throughout the length and breadth of the country, Greek society is suffering from the dramatic consequences of the government’s policy on energy, wages, purchasing power, and the protection of the first home.
The citizens are suffering, the Democracy is being undermined by parastatal methods and at the same time the Prime Minister is hiding from the Parliament. He doesn’t come to give answers, but prefers to go to protected party audiences and spew insults, witticisms and divisive speech.
With insults and cleverness, neither the price of electricity is reduced, nor the accuracy in supermarkets falls, nor the first residence is protected from crows and auctions for householders and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.
Insults and divisive speech do not hide the problems. We will not follow this slippery path of Mr. Mitsotakis. If he has chosen to level everything in order to save himself, we will resist, not follow him.
We will insist on calling him to the Parliament to provide answers for the unprecedented institutional diversion, which he himself has orchestrated.
We will insist on being next to the citizens by presenting realistic solutions to their problems.
We will insist on standing by the weak. So that no one is left alone in this difficult winter.
And above all, we will do everything in our power to hasten the prospect of the people’s verdict. Let political change and progressive governance come closer, which will bring society out of the quagmire and breathe life into society and our country.”
Following his tour, Mr. Tsipras will have a meeting with the president and members of the Pella Association of Agricultural Cooperatives
