Economou: “Substantial actions are needed to prevent the accumulation of new private debt” – Greek-Turkish: “We have the policy, but also the deterrent power”

From the spring onwards one can expect the electoral procedures. ND has clearly said that it will claim the people’s trust for self-reliance so that decisions can be made quickly and effectively,” he said.
“No one benefits from a new generation of red loans”
On the issue of high lending rates, he commented that “we have a common interest, society, citizens, politicians, banks. Let’s do what everyone is required to do in order not to create a generation of bad loans due to an unfavorable international development. The government has proven that it has the know-how, and above all the political will, to do everything possible to avoid this unpleasant development.”
As Yiannis Oikonomou pointed out, “it does not benefit anyone a new generation of red loans, the economy nor the banking system. We expect within the next two weeks concrete proposals and positions from the banking system… We must each do our part in what is required, and at this time the banks must contribute significantly so as not to create a new generation of red loans due to the objective difficulty of the international rise in interest rates”.
