Referring to the ongoing projects, Mr. Mitsotakis said that it is a small aspect of an overall project that is starting to have results

For an overall plan that is being implemented, with measurable goals and guaranteed funding, to incubate the flourishing and development of the Olympic projects, bringing them out of the desolation, the prime minister spoke Kyriakos Mitsotakis speaking this morning at the event for the presentation of the plan for the utilization of the Olympic Properties at OAKA.

The prime minister mentioned that the waters in the OAKA swimming pools until recently were green, while today they are blue, and emphasized that the government created an overall plan focusing on the OAKA but also the other facilities “that were withering and deserted”.

Referring to the ongoing projects he said it is a small aspect of an overall project that is beginning to bear fruit.

“We had an overall plan and vision, that’s why the project is being implemented,” he said, adding that he cares about amateur athletes who should be able to use the infrastructure built with Greek taxpayers’ money. The prime minister referred to the cooperation with the private sector and emphasized that
“we managed to mobilize all the financial tools we had at our disposal, we cooperated with the private sector, and there is a total of around 100 million euros for the reconstructions”.

He said that among other things the 54 million. another 15 million will be given by the Recovery Fund from Lamda Development as well as 7 million from a consortium that will rebuild the tennis center, and from other companies.

“Greece currently has 2 tennis players who are in the top 5 worldwide, but it does not have a facility to host a major event,” said the prime minister.

He added that public and private resources allowed the government to present the results of this work and emphasized that there is the first swimming pool for people with special needs “because we want the spaces to be accessible to all our fellow citizens. A large part of the Recovery Fund will goes to facility maintenance projects”.

Finally referring to the climbing track being built for the preparation of the national climbing team, he said that he himself had made a commitment to the parents of a young climber who died in an accident in Tzoumerka. “I committed to building a climbing track to honor his memory,” said Mr. Mitsotakis.
