Tsavousoglou: “We will do whatever is necessary on the islands” – Greece-Cyprus-EU “Game”

According to Anadolu Agency, Cavusoglu said that he will provide information on the equipment of the Aegean islands

Reports of an invasion of the Turkish islands were defiantly repeated on Wednesday by Mevlut Cavusoglu speaking to the Turkish parliament as part of the budget debates. “We will do whatever is necessary on the islands” he threatened again, even asking for the support of the opposition, however he essentially admitted that for decades the Turkish governments did not react to the presence of Greek military forces on the islands, with the exception of a note of protest in 1975.

The Turkish Foreign Minister launched a fierce attack on the European Union as well, calling on it to stop being the “toy” of Greece and Cyprus to be a strategic partner of Ankara!

According to Anadolu Agency, Cavusoglu stated that he will provide information about the equipment of the Aegean islands.

Stating that Turkey submitted a note of protest in 1975, Cavusoglu specifically stated:

“For the first time in our government we mentioned the violation of these islands, the demilitarized islands, by Greece in the letters we sent to the UN and for the first time we linked it to their sovereignty. That’s what we did. It hasn’t been done since 1960 until now. We say ‘we sent 3 letters to the UN’. Now we link it to sovereignty and say: ‘If Greece does not stop this violation, we will do whatever it takes’. Support us. We sent 3 letters,” he said, addressing the opposition.

“If the EU wishes to become our strategic partner, then let it be the toy of the duo of Greece and the Greek Cypriots and take the necessary steps in its relations with Turkey,” said the Turkish Foreign Minister.
