Dora Bakoyannis referred today to the legal dispute she had with the former minister Panos Kammenos 4 years ago, on the occasion of today’s unanimous decision of the European Court which “condemns the then governing majority of SyrizAnel for the criminal immunity it illegally granted him”.
The ND MP states in her post on Facebook
“All Greek women and men are equal before the law and the courts.
When in July 2018 he insulted my dignity and the memory of Pavlos Bakoyannis, Panos Kammenos himself hid behind his ministerial immunity in order not to allow the Greek judiciary to examine my lawsuit for insult and defamation through the press. Today, the European Court of Human Rights unseated him from the comfortable position of abusive minister.
Today’s unanimous decision of the European Court condemns the then governing majority of Syrizanel for the criminal immunity it illegally granted.
Henceforth, every insulting minister will be held accountable for his insults before the Greek criminal courts, as is the case for every Greek woman and every Greek man.
No immunity, no protection of the majority.”
