by

As SKAI correspondent Manolis Kostidis reports from Istanbul, Imamoglou said: “I am a ready player, who will enter the field to play.”

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu is throwing down the gauntlet to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, calling on him to “fight bravely” and not try to wipe out his opponents.

As SKAI correspondent Manolis Kostidis reports from Istanbul Imamoglou he said: “I am a player who is ready, who will enter the field to play.

But they try to injure me when I leave the house to go to the field. Mr. President, who is from the Kasimbasa region, we are almost compatriots, I call on him to fight bravely. Don’t try to wipe out your opponents, but fight bravely.”

For his part, Erdogan responds to Imamoglu’s challenge by provoking the opposition: “If their hearts are strong, let them come out and announce their candidate. And let us know who we will face in the squares”.

Akar’s new attack

Turkey’s defense minister launched an attack on Greece, Hulusi Akarsaying that it has hostile attitude towards Turkey and has expansionist positions.

In fact, he claimed that Greece is taking provocative actions and making new provocations.

In detail, the Turkish Defense Minister said: “When we look at the developments in the Aegean, we see that while Turkey is really making such efforts for peace and stability, our neighbor Greece unfortunately continues its expansionist and aggressive policies with provocative actions and rhetoric that fuel volatility, adding new challenges every day. Most recently, Greece launched a radar jam on our planes, which were in NATO service and were unarmed, during a planned NATO exercise.

“This hostile attitude shows that Greece has become arrogant to the extent that it ignores the fundamental principles and values of NATO. As Turkey, we expect Greek politicians to immediately abandon their irreconcilable and provocative behavior.”

Tayfun’s range

Turkish analysts note that “Greece with its Rafale, F-16 and F-35 is changing the balance”, while the Turkish media publishes maps with the range of Tayfun.

Haber Global presenter Sagnore Tezel said: “We have the map that we show on our screens. And Greece says that ‘Turkey is so aggressive that its missiles can hit our entire territory, so the F-16s are not sold, I will militarize the islands as the US is with me’. In this spirit, Greece took off fighters from 5 bases and locked our fighters with their radars”.

Military analyst Abdullah Agar noted: “The Greeks are taking steps that change the balance. Along with the support given by the US and France, with the Rafale fighters, with the F-16s that they are modernizing and the F-35s that they want to receive, they are trying to take initiatives.”

Yesterday Erdogan declared that “we have built an unmanned fighter. It stayed in the air for five hours.” He also said that “the opposition opposed our steps in Libya, the Mediterranean and Cyprus”.

ErdoÄŸan said: “In the past few days, an important project for our country and for the whole world, our unmanned fighter, Kızılelma, made its first flight with great success, staying in the air for 5 hours. Internally they had opposed the agreements we made with Libya in our drilling in the Mediterranean, the areas we opened in Cyprus in the support we gave to our brothers in Karabakh”.
