The “road map” on the way to the polls

The main political message that the Government wants to send is “greater growth, better wages, more disposable income”

Time is now counting down to the start of 2023 and the upcoming elections, but also to the implementation of all those measures and plans of the government that will strengthen its positive footprint and its social profile on the way to the polls.

The economy and by extension social policy is traditionally the forefront of the plans of all the parties that are thrown into the battle of the elections and … the best wins.

The next three months, therefore, are undoubtedly a critical period for the Maximos Palace during which all the legislative initiatives that have already been voted and have an impact on the everyday life and the “pockets” of the citizens will take “flesh and bones”, with some of the most important should be the increases in pensions from the beginning of the year, the abolition of the solidarity levy and the implementation of the market pass which will not solve but will help to better deal with the objective problems caused to Greek households both by the international energy crisis and and inflationary, which throws off accuracy.

After all, accuracy is the number “one” problem that concerns citizens, as reflected in all surveys, and in this context, government officials estimate that ultimately the result of the ballot box will be decided for the most part, perhaps based on the question “who can better manage the economy and support households.”

After all, the main political message that Piraeus and Megaro Maximos want to broadcast throughout the next period and will culminate during the official pre-election period is “greater growth, better wages, more disposable income”. A triptych that is expected to be promoted in the campaign of the ruling party as Kyriakos Mitsotakis is not at all willing to leave the social agenda to Alexis Tsipras, on the contrary, he intends to highlight the social face of his own politics which, as Maximos Palace executives emphasize, prioritizes actions and solutions to citizens’ problems, while the opposition focuses on catastrophizing and aggravation, without proposals.

In the next two months, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will tour Thessaly, Eastern Macedonia, Western Macedonia, Thrace and Epirus, from where he is expected to highlight the social and economic footprint of the government, with his interventions aimed mainly at the middle class and workers highlighting the “popular character of the center-right faction” against the “caviar leftists and luxury liberals”, as he characterized during his placement in the last Cabinet of 2022, his political opponents.
