Visit of the president of PASOK-KINAL to the Varvakeio market

The President of PASOK – Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, visited Varvakeio Agora on Thursday morning. He discussed with traders and consumers, while insisting on the need to adopt permanent measures, such as the reduction of VAT on basic goods, to protect the income and purchasing power of citizens from inflationary pressures.
After the visit, the President of PASOK – Movement for Change made the following statement:
“Mr. Mitsotakis baptizes “popularism” whatever suits him. Until a few months ago
denounced the bonus policy and today adopts it. He christens its reduction “popularism”.
VAT on essential goods, when they have adopted it as a central policy to respond to
financial crisis most governments in Europe. We think they are needed
stable policies to reduce inequalities and increase the income of Greek citizens.
And not customer policies, which are choices with an eye on the ballot box.”
