Sides with SKAI for drug shortages: Criminal court for drug warehouses that keep stocks

by

“Whoever keeps stock will never work in the pharmacy field again. A file will be opened with the prosecutor” said the Minister of Health, referring to the serious issue of drug shortages

The Minister of Health spoke on the “Mismatched” show, Thanos Pleuris.

Referring initially to the anti-smoking law, he stated that it is observed in the dining area, but the problem exists in night entertainment.

“There can’t be a control level outside every store. The controls will be carried out, but there should also be an anti-smoking culture in the evening, both by the patrons and by the management of the shops,” said the minister.

On the serious issue of drug shortages – mainly pediatrics and antibiotics for respiratory problems, Th. Pleuris said that there are complaints that parent companies (manufacturers) push their drugs where they are sold more expensively.

“With more orders and control over pharmaceutical companies we are trying to solve this part” he said.

The second part has to do with parallel exports.

“We have banned the export of 260 medicines and at the same time the pharmaceutical warehouses are being controlled. Whoever keeps stock will not work in the pharmacy again. A file will be opened at the prosecutor” said the Minister of Health.

“Those pharmacies that keep stock should declare it immediately or they will regret it. They will go to the criminal courts and be closed,” said Thanos Pleuris in a stern tone.
