The Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, thanked the women and men of ELAS for their valuable contribution to the safety of the citizens and the homeland, while offering gifts to traffic police officers, who today, December 30, 2022, were performing a traffic regulation service in Constitution.

“This year we have followed the traditional custom, offering a symbolic gift to the traffic warden who regulates the traffic in Syntagma Square, and to her, we say a big thank you to all the women and men who serve in the Greek Police, who fight day and night, often in long difficult conditions, to offer citizens security in our homeland, we thank them. Happy birthday, happy new year to the men and women of the Hellenic Police. Happy New Year to all Greeks”, emphasized Mr. Theodorikakos.

The minister was accompanied by the deputy minister, Eleftherios Oikonomou, the head of ELAS, lieutenant general Konstantinos Skoumas, the general police director of Attica, lieutenant general Emmanuel Durvetakis and the director of the Attica Traffic Directorate, brigadier Spyridon Laskos.

In Piraeus, the gifts were offered by the Secretary General of Public Order, Michael Karamalakis, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Police Headquarters, Lieutenant General Lazaros Mavropoulos and the Director of the Piraeus Police Directorate, Brigadier General Protosilaos Costazos.

At the same time, the deputy leader of ELAS, lieutenant general Georgios Gianninas, accompanied by the director of the Northeast Attica Police Directorate, Brigadier General Panagiotis Alexandropoulos, offered gifts to traffic officers in Kifissia.

The inspector general of the Police of Southern Greece, lieutenant general Georgios Kanellos, the head of the Order Branch of the Hellenic Police headquarters, lieutenant general Eleftherios Garilas and the director of the West Attica Police Directorate, police director Lykourgos Bitsakakis, offered gifts to traffic wardens in Aigaleo.

In Glyfada, the head of the Administrative Support and Human Resources Branch of ELAS, Lieutenant General Christos Kondylis, the director of the Attica Traffic Directorate, Brigadier Spyridon Laskos and the director of the Southeast Attica Police Directorate, Brigadier Angelos Papagelis, offered the gifts.
