Who is Eleni Makri who takes the place of Themis Heimaras in the ND’s KO

His seat, as well as the position of Themis Heimaras in the National Committee of the ND, will be occupied by the first runner-up in the Prefecture of Fthiotida, Eleni Makri-Theodorou.

Eleni Makri-Theodorou has been a Member of Parliament for Fthiotida with the ND.

In her biography posted on her website, she states:

“I served as Member of Parliament for Fthiotida with New Democracy from June 2012 to January 2015. In December 2017 I was awarded a PhD at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I was born in Lamia and in my early years I lived with my family in Domokos. I studied at the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Political Science at Panteion University (Department of International and European Studies).

Later, I attended the continuing education program at Maraslio Didaskalio and did postgraduate studies in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I have worked as a Primary Education teacher in schools in Boeotia and Fthiotida, as a principal at the 3rd Primary School of Lamia and for two years I worked as a supervisor at the Public Central Library of Lamia. I am married to Marios Theodorou and I have two sons, Fanis and Vangelis.

My political path

In 2012, in the parliamentary elections of June, I was elected as a member of parliament in the Fthiotida Electoral District with New Democracy. From my election until January 2015, I actively participated in the Educational Affairs, Research and Technology, Road Safety, and Social Security Monitoring Committees. In 2011 I was elected regional councilor in the Region of Central Greece. In 2006, I was elected prefectural councilor in the Prefecture of Fthiotida, where I was vice-prefect responsible for Education and Welfare issues, chairman of the Prefectural Administration, Economy and Social Sector Committee, chairman of the Prefectural Education Committee and representative of the Union of Prefectural Self-Governments of Greece (ENEA) in the Regional Equality Committee of Central Greece .

In 1999, I was elected for the first time as a municipal councilor in the Municipality of Lianokladi, where I was secretary of the Municipal Council, a member of the local Union of Municipalities and Communities (TEDK) of Fthiotida and a representative in the Central Union of Municipalities and Communities of Greece (KEDKE).

New Democracy

I am a member of New Democracy and a member of the Education and Self-Government sector of the Prefectural Steering Committee (NODE) ​​of Fthiotida. From June 2013 to March 2016 I was an elected member of the Executive Secretariat of New Democracy, the party’s highest guiding and executive body. From 2012 to 2014 I participated as a member of the Council of Primary and Secondary Education (S.P.D.E.) as a representative of New Democracy. Since 2000 I have been participating in the Congresses of the party”.
