“Six miles is the highest point of the limits they can reach,” said the Turkish defense minister

New provocative statements by Turkey’s Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, who in a strong tone expressed that Turkey does not accept any extension of territorial waters beyond six nautical miles.

As the SKAI correspondent broadcasts from Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, Akar reported: “Six miles is the uppermost point of the limits they can reach. Beyond this limit, we do not accept any expansion of territorial waters.”

And he continued: “They say that Turkey is a threat. We as Turkey do not threaten anyone. We have never threatened Greece! Turkey is a strong, good ally. In 1919, with the encouragement and provocation of some countries, the attempted invasion of Anatolia failed with the National Struggle. We tell them, learn from history, don’t get into trouble, don’t get into new adventures, don’t waste the rights and interests of your own people for the rights and interests of other countries.”

Akar added: “We will not allow any fait accompli and violation of our rights, we will not be swayed by (Greece’s) provocations.” Neither our rights nor those of the Cypriots. We are determined and strong about it.”

The Turkish Minister of Defense also referred to the occupied territories, saying that the issue is the recognition of the “TRDB”.

“The ‘TDBK’ was founded, the issue is its recognition. We keep working on it. We say to Greece, don’t miscalculate, don’t take wrong roads and learn from history. Decide before it snows in the mountains you trust? Because they trust someone. Do not forget. The wrong bill is coming back from Ankara.”

Inspecting Turkey’s new submarine Piri Reis Akar stated: “Our duty is to defend our interests and rights in the Aegean, the Southern Mediterranean and Cyprus. There is no way we will back down. We will not allow anything to encroach on our rights.
