At the New Year’s pie cutting event of the Armed Forces Reserve Club (LFED) of Attica, which took place in the auditorium of the Transfer School, in the “Georgios Karaiskakis I” camp, in Chaidari, the Deputy Minister of National Defense Nikos was present today Hardalias.

In his speech, among other things, he said: “On behalf of the state, allow me to express my sincere gratitude to you, because whenever your country needed you, you showed up. We look forward to and count on your support for the future as well.”

He underlined that with the reservists of the Armed Forces “I have special ties from the time of my tenure in the Civil Protection, when I had the opportunity to see on the field their contribution to the management of natural disasters”.

“It is exactly this genuine spirit of selfless giving and solidarity towards the neighbor that has allowed our country to stand up in a multitude of difficult circumstances” he added.

“The reserve of the Armed Forces,” he said, “constitutes the living armor of the country against any external enemy.”

“The reservists,” he continued, “regularly participate in exercises and trainings of the Armed Forces and contribute to the continuous upgrading of their fighting qualities. And of course, at the same time, they offer valuable social work through organizations such as LEFED”.

He referred to the armament programs and diplomatic initiatives of the government and added that “it has also undertaken initiatives that focus on conscripted hoplites, such as the establishment and operation of Lifelong Learning Centers within the military structures, with the aim of acquiring professional supplies from conscript hoplites, or the provision of training and certification of digital and other skills for conscripts using Information Technology for capacity building, thus enabling them to use their service for their later professional life.’

As announced in the context of the event, the president of L.E.F.E.D. Attica Manthos-Sotirios Matthaiou awarded N. Hardalia and the chiefs of the General Staff of the General Staff of the Greek Army Konstantinos Floros and General of the National Guard of Greece Charalambos Lalousis, whose assistance and support was honored by the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staffs of the National Defense and Army respectively, in the voluntary, multidimensional and at the same time extremely important project of the Club.

Also, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, the leaders of GEETHA and GES, as well as official guests awarded members of the L.EF.ED. Attica, for their participation in the fires and in the firefighting season last year as volunteer firefighters, their morals and selfless contribution to volunteer actions for the common good.

At the event, the leaders of GEETHA and GES and the president of L.E.F.E.D. Attica. The GEETHA leader, with his post on Facebook about the event, emphasizes, among other things: “My award is particularly honorable for the long-term support to the institution of the Reserves. The value of the Reserves for the National Defense of Greece is indisputable. Happy New Year with health and hope.”

Also present were the Deputy Regional Governor of the Western Sector of Athens Andreas Leotsakos as a representative of the Regional Governor of Attica, the mayor of Chaidari Evangelos Ndiniakos, the president of the Union of Retired Army Officers Lt. Gen. Stavros Koutris and delegations of executives of the Armed Forces and the Security Forces.
