Anna Michele Asimakopoulou on : SYRIZA’s line not to vote for its MEPs on Russian aggression in Ukraine

by

It is recalled that the European Parliament adopted today a resolution for the establishment of a special court to investigate Russian aggression in Ukraine.

ND MEP Anna Michelle Asimakopoulou estimated that it was apparently SYRIZA’s line that its MEPs abstain from voting on the establishment of a special court to investigate Russian aggression in Ukraine.

As the MEP pointed out speaking to SKAI radio and Vassilis Koufopoulos, her assessment is based on the fact that many MEPs of the Left voted in favor.

He invited Mr. Tsipas to answer why he gave a line and what abstinence means,

“Does it mean the party agrees with war crimes?” he wondered.

It is recalled that the European Parliament adopted today a resolution for the establishment of a special court to investigate Russian aggression in Ukraine.

The text of the resolution was approved with 472 votes in favor, 19 against and 33 abstentions.

Among others, SYRIZA MPs Mr. Papadimoulis, Kouloglou, Georgoulis and Mrs. Kountoura abstained from the vote.

ND reports that it expects the president of SYRIZA to clarify whether he believes that President Putin is committing war crimes and whether he should be brought before a special court, or whether he also joins the ambivalent stance he has taken since the first moment of the Russian invasion.
