It focuses on speeding up government work and election preparation Maximos Palace with the aim of the “pre-election” fever to leave the government’s planning intact until the official announcement of the elections.
In this context and given that this is also the Prime Minister’s firm and permanent exhortation to his Ministers, “not to raise their pencils prematurely”, a meeting of the Council of Ministers has been scheduled for Thursday, to promote pending bills which are sought to be voted until March. At the same time, however, the prolonged pre-election period requires party vigilance and preparedness, and driven by this, with his return from Japan, Kyriakos Mitsotakis puts the party machinery into full swing, intensifying his visits to areas that have separate or symbolic importance for the ND and the country or to those that need special attention and approach due to the fact that SW had not achieved the desired percentages in 2019.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Prime Minister is expected to visit Eye, in which he will tour and meet with institutions and citizens of the region, accompanied by the outgoing President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, who will visit Athens. Mati is given special weight due to the tragedy that occurred in the region from the deadly fire of 2018, with the trial ongoing and the Prime Minister’s visit to the region, among other things, aims to remind the citizens of the region that the ND government does not he forgets and stays by their side, as well as to check the progress of the reconstruction plan and to be personally informed about any issues that concern the residents. The visit of the Cypriot President to the region has the same objective, as the upgrading and reconstruction of the regions will be financed by resources collected from the contribution of the Republic of Cyprus and private donations. According to the Cypriot presidency, this is an important intervention that bears the stamp of the Cypriot people and the Republic of Cyprus, an act of solidarity and gratitude towards Greece. The cost of the projects will amount to approximately 12 million euros. The 11 million euros come from a donation from the Republic of Cyprus and the rest from donations from Cypriot citizens.
After Mati, the prime minister is expected to visit him as well Marathonan area that is one of the most important municipalities of the electoral region of Eastern Attica, in which the ND had recorded high percentages in the July 2019 elections and seeks to maintain and increase them, by submitting as candidates “strong cards” of the faction, such as the Minister of the Interior Makis Voridis, the Deputy Minister of the Interior Stelios Petsas and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sofia Zaharakis.
In the next period, the prime minister will focus on Attica with tours and visits within the walls, and in particular the Western Attica such as Peristeri and Menidi. Areas that Piraeus aims to strengthen and strengthen in relation to 2019, as at that time it had recorded much lower percentages in the territory. These are areas which, together with Piraeus II, are high on the blue planning agenda and their “awakening” has been set as a bet.
Of course, approaching the polls, the tours will continue outside the region of Attica, with both the prime minister himself and leading figures of the ND plowing the territory. In this road map, the Prime Minister’s program has already included Western Macedonia, specifically Kozani and Kastoria, probably on February 7-8.
