What he institutionally failed to do on Friday, he is attempting to do today by extortion, the government representative commented on the decision of SYRIZA to abstain from the legislative work in the Parliament
Attempt to lead Greece outside of the European democratic acquis he attributes to the president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsiprasthe government representative Giannis Oikonomou. Commenting on the official opposition’s decision to abstain from voting in the Parliament from now on, Mr. Economou said:
The Waterloo suffered by Mr. Tsipras in the debate on the motion of no confidence completely unsettled him and revealed his true intentions. What he institutionally failed to do on Friday, he is attempting today by extortion. Because the rules of the Republic do not serve him, as a genuine exponent of Trumpism a la Greca, he proceeds with moves to question and seriously degrade the institutional pillars of the Hellenic Republic: popular sovereignty, Parliamentarianism and the constitutional order. His descent is out of bounds and has become downright dangerous. He is trying again, after 2015, to lead Greece outside the European democratic acquis and make it a third world country, like the ones he admires. Involved and with a totalitarian mentality, Mr. Tsipras did not consider that all those who harmed the Republic, during our political history, started the diversion projects by attacking Parliamentarianism and trying to delegitimize the functioning of the Parliament. Today, Mr. Tsipras appears as their successor.
He is, and will remain, hopelessly alone in his slump. The Government, with the overwhelming majority of citizens on its side, ensures and guarantees the democratic normality and orientation of Greece.
