As Mr. Kalafatis mentioned in a post on his social media accounts, national issues were discussed, as well as the perspectives of Macedonia and Thrace.

Specifically, Mr. Kalafatis posted the following:

“Important issues of Greek-American relations, which are constantly improving, but also the perspectives of Macedonia and Thrace, which are expanding more and more, thanks to the policies implemented by the Government under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, we discussed in Washington, where I am, for my participation in the 4th Southeast & East Med Conference, with the President and CEO of the American Hellenic Institute, Nikos Laryngakis (center photo) and the Executive Director of the organization AHEPA Athens Chapter HJ001, Vasilios Mosaidis.

My interlocutors proved to be deeply knowledgeable about the situation prevailing in Northern Greece and the prospects of the region. I had the opportunity to highlight the participation of the Greek Community in the promotion of our national issues and we agreed on more frequent contact in the future.”
