Former Prime Minister Giorgos Papandreou gave a new response to New Democracy after the statement issued by the ruling party, accusing him of participating in secret talks with SYRIZA, with the aim of forming a “government of the losers”.

In his post, Mr. Papandreou states the following:

“It takes abysmal audacity and arrogance for the leadership of a party to criticize the PASOK Government that saved the country,

which led the country to bankruptcy, on the verge of a national disaster, with huge wastes, while hurting the credibility of Greece with successive scandals and accounting frauds,

which caused the squares of hatred and division and colluded in them, with those who supported the same easy but false promises, with Zappeia on the one hand, with the programs of Thessaloniki on the other, and now they are turning against each other,

which shows so much trust in the Greek people that it monitors them electronically,

which feeds state advertisements to the otherwise autonomous media,

which talks about development and justice, but with its own decisions excluded citizens from energy production, so that a few companies, which collect billions of Euros every year, due to filthy lucre, can gather and plunder the wealth of the Greek people,

which even today still operates with direct client assignments, hiding behind the polarization – which they cultivate together with SYRIZA, instead of taking care of the real problems of the Greeks.

History is not being rewritten by servants of interests and establishments and by politicians and parties that insult democracy and the intelligence of every democratic citizen.”
