We believe in principles and values” emphasized the Minister of Health Thanos Pleuris, at the ONNED Thessaloniki cake cutting, calling on the youth, the members and the executives of the ND to fight the upcoming electoral battle, with the ultimate goal of the independence of the ND in the second elections.

The veto in Bucharest marks the course of Kostas Karamanlis and makes us proud” underlined, among others, Mr. Pleuris.

“Right now we have a difficult battle ahead of us. We have electoral contests ahead of us. And they are crucial, because there are not two elections, there is one election which means that the ND must have the largest percentage so that in the second elections we have self-reliance and Kyriakos Mitsotakis as prime minister” said Mr. Pleuris and continued:

I am a right-wing politician and I believe very much in ideological battles. And the ideological battle we are fighting is against SYRIZA and the Left and with one voice we must shout: “Never again the Left”. We will not allow what the country experienced in 2015-2019. We differ from them and our big difference is that we believe in principles and values».

“We are the faction that believes that there are borders and guards them when necessary, that we believe that there should be security, that we believe that there should be a free economy” added the minister.

Mr. Pleuris made reference to the decision of the former prime minister and former president of the ND Kostas Karamanlis not to participate – “of course supporting the government and the faction” – in the ND ballots, saying:

I was not his deputy, I was not his partner. But as a right-wing politician and as an ordinary citizen, the moment of the veto in Bucharest (at the NATO summit) marks the course of Kostas Karamanlis and makes us proud, that we had him as the leader of our faction».

Mr. Pleuris said that exactly these values of the faction inspire the “nation” and added:

We believe that we will be given the opportunity and we know that on the first Sunday we will have the percentage we want and on the second Sunday we will have a self-sufficient ND government, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the end of Tsipras in the political arena, which troubled the country».

At the greeting, the Deputy Minister of the Interior (Macedonia – Thrace) Stavros Kalafatis spoke with warm words about the minister and his work in the field of Health, stressing that “he is recognized in the consciousness of the faction, but also of society”.

Through government work, he gains the appreciation of society, just as the entire government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis gains the appreciation of society” added the deputy minister and referred to the government’s agenda, especially for Thessaloniki and Northern Greece, which “they change“, with important projects, with a horizon of 2030. Mr. Kalafatis made a special reference to former Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis.

I have one thing to say. Patriot in all caps. We owe him a great deal of thanks for what he has offered and for what he will continue, in whatever way he chooses, to help and offer” underlined the deputy minister.

ONNED president Orfeas Georgiou referred to the upcoming elections, noting that “it is a battle being fought for our generation” and added “it is also a battle being fought not to allow some so-called progressives, some so-called modernizers to turn us back, whether it has to do with universities, whether it has to do with the health sector, or whether it has to do with every part of society”.

Mr. Georgiou mentioned that in the next period ONNED echelons will tour all over Greece to communicate to young people the government’s work and the ND’s positions.

The event was attended and, among them, greeted by the regional governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the mayor of Thessaloniki Konstantinos Zervas, the head of the prime minister’s office in Thessaloniki Maria Antoniou, the president of PEDKM, the mayor of Pylaia – Hortiati, Ignatios Kaitezidis, the vice-president of KEDE, mayor of Ampelokipi – Menemeni, Lazaros Kyrioglou, ND MPs Kostas Giulekas, Dimitris Kouvelas and Stratos Simopoulos, vice-president of ONNED Panagiotis Lebesis and head of organizations of ONNED Thessaloniki Nikos Patseas, local authorities, representatives of organizations, party officials and of youth, etc.
