Her energy policy of Greece for the support of the citizens against the energy crisis and the country’s steps towards the green transition presented by Minister of Environment and Energy, Kostas Skrekasin the meeting he had yesterday with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Stateresponsible for energy diplomacy, Laura Lochman.

The Minister of Environment and Energy developed the initiatives taken by the country within the framework of the European Union to ensure affordable prices for consumers and also the leading role of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the adoption of a common European solution, by imposing a ceiling on the price of natural gas gas.

In addition, Mr. Skrekas developed the strategic increase of interconnections with neighboring countries and the implementation of critical natural gas and electricity infrastructures, such as the Greek-Bulgarian IGB pipeline and the new natural gas pipeline with North Macedonia, the construction of which will begin soon. Finally, he referred to the emblematic “green” connections, such as the one with Egypt.

For her part, Mrs. Lochman said she was impressed by Greece’s progress in the field of Renewable Energy Sources while, at the same time, she pointed out the key role of the country as a pillar of energy stability and security in the wider region of Southeast Europe.
