Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is “present” at the event for the awarding of NHS health workers. This is the first awarding of awards to people of the National Health System, while the intention of the Ministry of Health is to establish this award as an annual institution.

After the video screening, the floor was taken by the Deputy Minister of Health, Mina Gaga, who described the struggles of the people of the National Health Service, while making special reference to the period of the pandemic and her tenure at the Sotiria hospital. He thanked everyone who stood by the healthcare workers during the pandemic. At the same time, Mrs. Gaga announced that in the coming days there will be announcements for 800 positions in the National Social Security Administration.

The Minister of Health then took the floor Thanos Pleuris, who noted that today is a special day for the Ministry of Health, as overall today the Health system and the effort made during the pandemic will be awarded. He then referred to the efforts to upgrade the services provided. As he said, 1.5 billion euros have been secured from the Recovery Fund in order to upgrade the infrastructure of hospitals and health centers.

Also present at the event are the former Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias and the former Deputy Minister of Health Vassilis Kontozamanis.
