Rapid developments in SYRIZA and a political storm in general in the political scene were caused by the post of Pavlos Polakis, who, on the occasion of the conviction of the Special Court for Nikos Pappas, targeted judges and journalists in his post.

Alexis Tsipras removed his MP from the position of Transparency department head and decided to refer Pavlos Polakis to the Ethics Committee of SYRIZA.

Everything shows that in the political secretariat of SYRIZA on Tuesday, there will be rapid developments, with the Cretan politician resorting to a new post, “warning” that EVERYTHING will be said there.

For its part, the ND demanded the definitive deletion of Pavlos Polakis from the party and the expulsion of Nikos Pappas from the ballots.

Leaks from Koumoundourou hinted that Alexis Tsipras has already decided to delete Pavlos Polakis from the SYRIZA electoral ballots, while the question of his deletion from the party is open.

Prosecutor’s intervention for the suspension of Polakis

The ex officio intervention of the Athens First Instance Prosecutor’s Office was caused by posts on social media, including that of the MP dismissed by SYRIZA, Pavlos Polakis, for high judges who participated in the composition of the Special Court that sentenced former minister Nikos Pappas.

In the posts, in addition to the supreme judges, there were also references to judges who participate in the composition of the other Special Court, where the former minister Dimitris Papagelopoulos is on trial, while in his post the expelled member of parliament also referred by name to journalists and other actors of public life.

The intervention was made by the head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Antonis Eleftherianos who instructed the head of Criminal Prosecution Eleni Triantafillou to carry out a preliminary examination for at least two offences, that of inciting citizens to commit crimes and violence against judicial officers.

The prosecutor’s intervention covers a series of posts on the internet and not only the controversial post of Polakis that led him out of SYRIZA, for whom the Prosecutor’s Office, due to his parliamentary capacity, will send the case, as planned, to the Parliament for further action.
