The Cabinet under the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, met with the sole subject of the Tempe tragedy. According to reports, Mr Mitsotakis has implicitly ruled out all scenarios for an election before Easter, after he reportedly told his ministers that the government has a lot of legislative work ahead of it in the coming weeks, with around ten bills pending.

At the same time, Mr. Mitsotakis said, according to the same information, that within the next week support measures will be announced for the families of the victims in Tempi, but with “discretion”, as he said during his introduction. In fact, the prime minister asked everyone to be present in the public debate, but with empathy, without any balancing of responsibilities, with honesty and truth, with the aim of fully elucidating the case.

Regarding the minimum wage, announcements on which were expected last week, but of course that could not be done due to the national tragedy, announcements should now be expected until the end of next week. This could be done earlier but the government does not want to create in any way the impression that it is doing it to change the agenda.
